A basic recipe for traditional Scottish Shortbread made using 1 part Sugar, 2 parts Butter and 3 parts Flour. This Shortbread is crumbly, sweet and delicious.

Cooking mode

When entering cooking mode - We will enable your screen to stay ‘always on’ to avoid any unnecessary interruptions whilst you cook!

  • 75g Butter
  • 35g Caster Sugar
  • 115g Plain Flour

Utensils

  • Step 1

    In a bowl, combine the butter and sugar and beat till combined.

  • Step 2

    Stir in the flour and turn onto a work surface.

  • Step 3

    Turn on to a work surface and gently roll into 2 sausage shapes.

  • Step 4

    Wrap in cling film and place in the fridge for 20 minutes.

  • Step 5

    Preheat the Air Fryer to 170C.

  • Step 6

    Cut the shortbread into rounds around 1/2 inch thick.

  • Step 7

    Air fry for 7 – 10 minutes.
