Baked French Toast with Mixed Berries & Maple Syrup

Cooking mode

  • Soft butter for spreading, as desired
  • 2 slices brioche bread
  • 1 large egg
  • 75ml milk
  • 1 tbsp cream
  • Pinch cinnamon

To serve

  • Fresh mixed berries
  • Maple syrup
  • Icing sugar

Utensils

  • Step 1

    Flip unit down to the horizontal position and push the lever back all the way until it clicks into position.

  • Step 2

    Spread butter on both sides of bread. In a shallow flat dish, whisk the egg, milk, cream and cinnamon together. Lay buttered bread in egg mixture, leave to soak for 2 to 3 minutes, turnover and leave to soak for another 2 minutes.

  • Step 3

    Place the soaked bread on grill tray and insert into unit. Select BAKE, select HIGH and set the timer to 12 minutes. Select START/STOP to begin. When 6 minutes remain, remove tray from unit, and flip bread over. Return tray to unit and bake until desired shade is reached.

  • Step 4

    When cooking is complete, remove tray from unit and serve French toast immediately with berries, drizzle over maple syrup and dust with icing sugar.
