Healthy Home Made Smokey Baked Beans

The perfect topping or side dish. The smokey flavour of these beans will definitely leave you wanting more!

Cooking mode

When entering cooking mode - We will enable your screen to stay ‘always on’ to avoid any unnecessary interruptions whilst you cook!

  • 100g baby plum tomatoes
  • 2 heaped tbsp tomato puree
  • 1 can chopped tomatoes
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 can butterbeans (drained and rinsed)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp olive oil (for cooking)
  • 2 cloves garlic (crushed)
  • Chilli flakes

Utensils

  • Step 1

    Heat a little olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat and add in the tomatoes and garlic. Sauté these until the tomatoes until they start to burst, then pour in the tinned tomatoes, puree and seasonings

  • Step 2

    Reduce the heat to low/low-medium and leave this to cook and reduce slightly

  • Step 3

    Once your sauce has thickened, allow this to cool, then pour the mixture into your Ninja blender and blitz for a few seconds so that you’re left with a smooth (ish) consistency. You can blend this as much or little as you like

  • Step 4

    Stir through the butterbeans and adjust any seasonings to taste. Heat until piping hot, then serve with some fresh toast!
