Ready in less than 30 minutes this Herbal Cough Syrup is packed full of healing herbs to help battle winter sore throats and coughs. Suitable for kiddies and adults alike.

Cooking mode

When entering cooking mode - We will enable your screen to stay ‘always on’ to avoid any unnecessary interruptions whilst you cook!

  • 2 cups water
  • 8 sprigs thyme
  • 2 sprigs sage
  • 2 peppermint tea bags
  • 1 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1 tsp dried lavender
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2" piece root ginger
  • 1 Zest of lemon
  • 350g raw honey
  • 1 Juice of lemon

Utensils

  • Step 1

    Add all of the ingredients except for the raw honey and lemon juice to the cooking pot. Secure the pressure lid and set the valve to SEAL. Select PRESSURE, LOW, and time to 5 minutes. Once the programme has finished running quick release the pressure.

  • Step 2

    Once the valve depresses carefully remove the lid. Set to SEAR/SAUTE, temperature to 3 and cook for 5-8 minutes. You want the mixture to reduce to between 150ml and 200ml. Strain into a measuring jug and discard all herbs and spices.

  • Step 3

    Add the raw honey and lemon juice and honey then stir. Return to the cooking pot and SEAR/SAUTE at 3 until thickened. Strain again to remove any honey crystals. Transfer to a sterile jar or glass bottle once cool.

  • Step 4

    Store in an airtight container in a cool dark place or the refrigerator for up to 1 month.

    Omit the cayenne pepper if planning on administering to small children.

    Dosage instructions:

    Not suitable for under 12 months of age!

    For babies aged 12-24 months give 2.5ml (1/2 tsp) no more than 3 times a day
    For children aged 2-8 give 5ml (1 tsp), 3-4 times daily
    For children aged 8-12 give 7.5ml (1/2 tbsp), 3-4 times daily
    For children aged 12+ & adults give 15ml (1 tbsp) every 2 hours
