Step 1
Place beef, herbs, garlic powder, onion salt andseasoning into a bowl. Thoroughly mix together.Divide beef into 12 portions and form each intoa loosely formed 10cm patty. Break up a slice ofcheese into 4 and place 2 quarters on top of eachother in centre of 6 patties and sandwich theplain patties on top and firm and shape together.Use your thumb to make a 1.5cm indent in thecentre of each patty (this will help the burgerskeep their shape uniform during cooking). Popinto fridge for 30 minutes to firm up.
Step 2
Plug probe into unit. Insert grill plate in unit andclose lid. Select GRILL. The unit will default toHI, this is the correct temperature setting forthis recipe. Select PRESET. Select BEEF, usethe arrows to the left of the display to set MEDWELL. Select START/STOP to begin preheating.
Step 3
While unit is preheating insert probe horizontallyinto the center of one of the patties (see probeplacement instructions on page 7).
Step 4
When unit beeps to signify it has preheated,place patties on grill plate. Close lid over the cord.
Step 5
Cook burgers, without flipping, until the unitbeeps to signal they have reached your desireddoneness. Use oven gloves to remove probefrom burger and remove burgers from unit.
Step 6
If desired, toast the buns directly on the grillplate by selecting GRILL, setting temperatureto HI and setting time to 1 minute. Enjoy burgerswith condiments and toppings of your choice.
