Swedish Köttbular

For the meatballs

  • 500 g ground beef
  • 250 g minced pork
  • 1 onion
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 100 g breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 5 tablespoons milk
  • salt, pepper

    Put both types of minced meat in a large bowl. Peel the onion and garlic and chop both very finely, then add to the meat and mix everything thoroughly.

    Add breadcrumbs, egg, milk and salt and pepper and mix well. Now form small balls from the minced mixture. Put them on a plate, cover and
    refrigerate for 1 hour.

  • Step 3

    After this time, heat oil in a pan and fry the meatballs on all sides. Once the meatballs are nicely browned, remove them from the pan, place them in a baking dish and let them finish cooking in an oven preheated to 180 °degrees for 25 minutes.

  • Step 4

    In the meantime, melt butter in a saucepan. Add flour and stir well until a roux is formed. Gradually add the broth, stirring until a thick sauce is formed. Stir in the cream and season to taste with Dijon mustard, soy sauce and salt and pepper.

    As a side dish, I recommend the classic mashed potatoes and cranberries from the jar
