Ingredients

For the burgers

  • 2 burgers
  • 2 cheese slices
  • Little gem lettuce
  • 1 beef steak tomato, sliced
  • 1 large burger bun

For the steak sandwich

  • 1 (300g) thick sirloin or rib eye steak
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • To taste sea salt and black ground pepper
  • 2 thick sourdough bread slices
  • Fried onions
  • Rocket leaves
  • 1-2 tsp horseradish sauce

When entering cooking mode - We will enable your screen to stay ‘always on’ to avoid any unnecessary interruptions whilst you cook!

Method

  • Step 1

    Plug probe into the Ninja Foodi MAX Health Grill & Air Fryert. Insert grill plate in unit and close lid. Select GRILL. The unit will default to HI, this is the correct temperature setting for this recipe. Select PRESET. Select BEEF, use the arrows to the left of the display to set desired cook level. Select START/STOP to begin preheating

  • Step 2

    While unit is preheating, brush steak with oil and season to taste

  • Step 3

    When unit beeps to signify it has preheated, place burgers and steak on grill plate and insert probe horizontally into thickest part of steak. Press down gently to maximise grill marks. Close lid over the probe cord. When the unit beeps and the display reads FLIP, use silicone tipped tongs to flip the steak. Close lid to continue cooking

  • Step 4

    When cooking is complete, place cheese slices on burgers and allow to melt slightly

  • Step 5

    Layer burger stack with burger bun at bottom, burger with cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, repeat, topped off with bun

  • Step 6

    Transfer steak to cutting board and allow to rest for 5 minutes. Then cut across the grain into slices

  • Step 7

    If desired, toast sourdough bread slices on the grill plate by selecting GRILL, setting temperature to HI, and setting time to 1 minute

  • Step 8

    Arrange steak slices over bread, topped with onions, rocket leaves, horseradish sauce and the remaining bread
