Middle Eastern Grilled Cauliflower Steaks

A simple, delicious vegan meal packed with Middle Eastern flavour. These Middle Eastern Grilled Cauliflower Steaks are sure to be a hit.

For the cauliflower steaks

  • 1 Large cauliflower
  • 3 tbsp Avocado oil
  • 2 tbsp Honey or agave
  • 2 tsp Ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Sea salt

For the sauce

  • 125ml Water
  • Juice of Lemon
  • 115g Coconut yogurt
  • 55g Tahini
  • 15g Flat leaf parsley
  • Sprigs of mint (leaves only)
  • 1/2 Garlic clove
  • 1/4 tsp Ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper

Additional toppings

  • 70g Pomegranate seeds
  • 2 tbsp Chopped flat leaf parsley
  • 2 tbsp Toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp Za'atar

Utensils

  • Step 1

    Insert grill plate in unit and close lid. Select GRILL, set temperature to MAX and time to 10 minutes. Select START/STOP to begin preheating.

  • Step 2

    Whilst the unit is pre-heating, remove the outer leaves of your cauliflower and cut into 4 x 3/4″ thick slices. Mix together the remaining ingredients for the cauliflower steaks and brush over one side of the cauliflower.

  • Step 3

    When the unit beeps and displays the ‘ADD FOOD’ prompt add the cauliflower steaks, basted side down, then brush the tops with the oil mixture. Close lid and grill for the full cooking time, flipping halfway.

  • Step 4

    Whilst the cauliflower is cooking blend together the ingredients for the sauce.

  • Step 5

    When cooking is complete, serve immediately, drizzle over the sauce, and sprinkle with toppings.
