Strawberry Fruit Leather

TIP: This is a delicious way to use up over ripe strawberries. 

Ingredients

  • Cooking spray or oil for greasing
  • 500g strawberries, hulled
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

When entering cooking mode - We will enable your screen to stay ‘always on’ to avoid any unnecessary interruptions whilst you cook!

Method

  • Step 1

    Spray Zone 1 and 2 lower drawer sides with cooking spray or oil. (This is to ensure the baking parchment adheres to the sides.)  Insert crisper plates into both drawers. Line each drawer with a piece of baking parchment, ensuring the parchment goes slightly up the sides of the drawers. Press paper into place. 

  • Step 2

    Place strawberries in a blender with honey and lemon juiceBlend until smooth. 

  • Step 3

    Pour strawberry puree equally between the two drawers over baking parchmentTilt to ensure the puree is even. 

  • Step 4

    Select Zone 1, turn the dial to select DEHYDRATE, set temperature to 60°C and set time to 8 hours. Select MATCH. Press dial to begin cooking. 

  • Step 5

    When cooking is complete, ensure the fruit leather is cooked enough (it should be firm to the touch). If additional time is needed, Select Zone1, turn the dial to select DEHYDRATE, set temperature to 60°C and set time to 2 hours. Select MATCH. Press dial to begin cooking. 

  • Step 6

    When cooking is complete, allow fruit to fully cool in unit 

  • Step 7

    Once cool, remove fruit leather and parchment from unit. Slice each sheet into 3 equal strips lengthways. Trim off excess parchment. Roll fruit leather up in parchment paper. Place in an airtight container if not served straight away.
