Creamy Mushroom Hand Pies

Cooking mode

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 200g mushrooms, sliced
  • pinch chilli flakes
  • 1/2 tsp thyme leaves
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp double cream
  • 320g puff pastry (ready rolled), thawed
  • 1 egg, whisked
  • oil to spray

Utensils

  • Step 1

    Select Saute. Heat Oil in the foodi and add Onion.

  • Step 2

    Cook till light brown – 5 minutes.

  • Step 3

    Add Garlic and cook for a minute. Add the mushrooms,thyme, chilli powder, salt and black pepper powder. Cook for 5 minutes.

  • Step 4

    Then stir in cream.

  • Step 5

    Cut the pastry into squares and then cut each square into a rectangular strip.

  • Step 6

    Spread cooled mushroom mixture on the rolled-out pastry leaving 1 cm from the edges. Brush some of the egg around the edges of the pastry, then fold the pastry in half over the filling to form a square.

  • Step 7

    Repeat with remaining dough and filling.

  • Step 8

    Fold over to form a pie. Press the sides down using a fork. Spray some oil into the air fryer basket and then on the pastries.

  • Step 9

    Add to air fryer and fry for 8-10 minutes at 170 C. Flip midway.
