Everything Bagel Savoury Energy Balls

Looking for a quick energy boost that isn’t packed full of sugar? Then look no further than these Everything Bagel Savoury Energy Balls. Packed with protein rich cannellini beans and nuts without compromising on flavour.

Utensils required


For the everything bagel seasoning

  • 4 tbsp black sesame seeds
  • 4 tbsp white sesame seeds
  • 4 tbsp poppy seeds
  • 2 tbsp caraway seeds
  • 4 tsp sea salt flakes
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tsp onion granules
  • 2 tsp garlic granules

For the energy balls

  • 200g cannellini beans (weight after draining)
  • 160g mixed nuts
  • 2 tbsp everything bagel seasoning (see above recipe)
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Cooking mode

  • Step 1

    Place all of the seeds for the everything bagel seasoning into a dry non-stick frying pan or skillet and toast over a medium heat. The seeds will become fragrant and begin to ‘pop’ when ready. Transfer to a small bowl then stir in the remaining seasoning ingredients.

  • Step 2

    Place all of the ingredients for the energy balls into the bowl of the food processor and process on HIGH. Scrape down the sides with a silicone spatula and repeat. Once the mixture comes together easily between the fingers it is ready.

  • Step 3

    Take a tablespoon of mixture at a time and roll into a ball. Place onto a plate then repeat until all of the mixture has been used.

  • Step 4

    Roll each ball into the everything bagel seasoning. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
