Indian Roast Chicken

This Indian inspired lightly spiced, aromatic roast chicken is juicy, delicious and perfect for dinners and gatherings.

Cooking mode

  • 3.5 lb - 4lb Skin on Chicken
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 50g Butter
  • 4 cloves Garlic, crushed
  • 1 inch Ginger, crushed
  • 1 tsp Cumin Powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 Lemon, Juice only
  • Vegetable Oil, to drizzle over

Utensils

  • Step 1

    Pat the chicken dry.

  • Step 2

    Season inside and out with salt and pepper.

  • Step 3

    Add the butter, garlic, ginger, cumin, coriander, turmeric, red chill and lemon to a bowl and whisk together.

  • Step 4

    Set unit to preheat and select roast.Set temperature to 190c and set timer to 40 minutes.

  • Step 5

    Loosen the skin of the chicken gently.

  • Step 6

    Push the butter under the skin until the entire crown is covered.

  • Step 7

    Drizzle over and add a little more salt & pepper.

  • Step 8

    Tie the legs with twine. Roast for 20 minutes breast side down and then flip for the remaining 20 minutes.

    Rest for 10 minutes before serving.
