Pizza Express Smokey BBQ Chicken Pizza

Tip: When using a Ninja Pizza Peel, dusting it with flour will help prevent sticking when transferring your pizza to the stone.

Cooking mode

When entering cooking mode - We will enable your screen to stay ‘always on’ to avoid any unnecessary interruptions whilst you cook!

  • 1 x 400g Pizza Express pizza dough (ready to roll)
  • 8 tablespoons PizzaExpress BBQ Dipping Sauce
  • 150g Mozzarella ball, sliced, patted dry to remove excess moisture
  • 55g Red onions, peeled and finely sliced
  • 60g Mixed peppers, finely sliced
  • 200g BBQ, or plain chicken, torn into pieces
  • ½ teaspoon Oregano
  • Ground black pepper, as desired
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
  • Step 1

    Install the pizza stone in the oven and close the door. 

  • Step 2

    Press MODE until PIZZA is selected, use the dial to select ARTISAN, and set the time to 2½ minutes. Press START/STOP to begin preheating (preheating will take approx. 18 minutes). 

  • Step 3

    Meanwhile, on a floured surface, slice the dough puck in half and shape into two equal ballsRest for 15 minutes. 

  • Step 4

    Flatten the dough balls until doubled in widthFlip and repeat, until each one is a 24cm circle.

  • Step 5

    Evenly cover each dough base with Pizza Express BBQ Dipping Sauce, leaving a 1.5cm edge for the crust. Evenly place the onion, pepper slices and chicken pieces across both bases, and top with sliced mozzarella. Season with oregano and  ground black pepper, as desired.

  • Step 6

    When unit is preheated and ADD FOOD and PRS STRT is displayed, open door, slide a floured pizza peel under the pizza and transfer to the hot stone. Close door, press START/STOP and cook for minutes. 

  • Step 7

    When cooking is complete, remove pizza with peel and let rest for 2 minutes before garnishing with chopped parsley and serving.  Repeat with remaining pizza.
