Plantain Fries

Ingredients

  • 3 yellow plantain (some dark marks)
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • Oil
  • 4 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tsp jerk seasoning

Method

  • Step 1

    Grab your plantain, peel by scoring length wise, and opening up. Cut in half, then cut vertically into long thick strips, similar to fries shape, you should get 3 strips out of each half

  • Step 2

    In a mixing bowl, add oil, salt, black pepper, thyme, cornstarch and gently mix together. Cover the plantain in the oil mixture until well coated

  • Step 3

    Get the Ninja Foodi MAX Health Grill & Air Fryer tray from inside the device, and place the fries along the surface of the tray. Once all the fries are in the tray, place the tray inside the machine fryer, turn it on, and cook at 200oC for 15 minutes. Flipping round the plantain halfway through at 7 minutes

  • Step 4

    For the jerk ketchup, get a small bowl, add ketchup, jerk seasoning, black pepper and mix together

  • Step 5

    Garnish plantain with sea salt, dip in sauce and enjoy!
