Pork Souvlaki with Warm Pitta Bread

THESE GOLDEN PORK SKEWERS PROVIDE A QUICK AND SATISFYING DINNER WITH MINIMUM EFFORT, THEY CAN BE SERVED WITH SALAD OR IN A WARM PITA BREAD

Cooking mode

For the pork marinade

  • 1 kg pork shoulder, cut into 2 cm cubes
  • 100ml olive oil
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 tbsp oregano
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 Zest and juice from lemon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp of pepper
  • 1/2 tsp chilli flakes (optional)

For the tzatsiki

  • 200ml greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cucumber, grated
  • 30ml olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tsp chopped dill
  • 1 tsp chopped fresh mint
  • Salt and pepper to season

To serve

  • sliced tomatoes
  • Cucumber
  • Red onions
  • Pitta bread

Utensils

  • Step 1

    Mix all the ingredients in a bowl, add the pork and cover with cling film. Refrigerate for minimum of 2 hours, preferably over night.

  • Step 2

    Make the tzatziki by mixing everything together. Set aside until ready to use.

  • Step 3

    Preheat the multi-cooker to 200ºC air fry. Place the pork meat on skewers and stack it on the 2-tier reversible rack.

  • Step 4

    Cook for 5 mins then turn and cook for another 5 mins. Tip: if there is too many skewers the top tier will brown faster, swap the skewers after the initial 5 mins cooking time.

  • Step 5

    Once ready set aside and rest for 5 mins. Gently warm the pitas if using and dip them into the juices at the bottom of the Ninja pot.

  • Step 6

    Place the meat from two skewers on each pita , drizzle with tzatziki and garnish with salad. Serve and enjoy.

  • Step 7

    Tip: if you own a Ninja skewer stand use it in your multicooker.
