Roasted Turkey Crown Dinner

Cooking mode

When entering cooking mode - We will enable your screen to stay ‘always on’ to avoid any unnecessary interruptions whilst you cook!

  • 2kg turkey crown
  • 50g butter, melted with 1 tbsp chopped thyme and 1 tbsp chopped rosemary
  • To taste sea salt and ground black pepper
  • 6 rashers of streaky bacon
  • 12 mini pigs in blankets

For the vegetables

  • 1kg roasting potatoes like Rooster, peeled cut into 5cm pieces
  • 3 tbsp sunflower oil, divided
  • 500g Chantenay carrots, peeled, halved if large
  • 500g parsnips, peeled, halved, cut into 5cm
  • To taste salt and freshly ground black pepper

Utensils

  • Step 1

    Install the Accessory Frame in the bottom level of the unit

  • Step 2

    Turn dial to select GOURMET ROAST, set temperature to 330°C and set time to 5 minutes. Push the right-hand dial to set STAGE 2, set temperature to 160°C and set time to 2 hours and 30 minutes. Select START/STOP to begin preheating (preheating will take approx. 10 minutes)

  • Step 3

    Brush turkey crown on all sides with butter and liberally season with salt and ground black pepper, as desired. Place the Roast Rack in the Pro-Heat Tray, then place the turkey on the rack, breast side down

  • Step 4

    When unit is preheated and ADD FOOD and PRS START is displayed, open door and place the tray on the frame. Close door and select START/STOP to begin cooking

  • Step 5

    After 60 minutes, open door and slide out tray, use silicone tipped tongs to flip over the turkey crown. Arrange bacon rashers on top. Baste with juices and slide back in oven. Close door

  • Step 6

    Whilst the turkey is cooking, in a bowl, place potatoes and 2 tablespoons oil, toss with salt and pepper as desired

  • Step 7

    After 90 minutes, open door and slide out tray, remove the turkey crown and rack. Add potatoes to tray, place rack and turkey on top, baste with juices and return to oven. Close door. In the bowl, add remaining oil, carrots and parsnips, toss until coated in oil

  • Step 8

    After 2 hours, open door and slide out tray, remove the turkey crown and rack. Cooking is complete, when the internal temperature of the turkey reads 75°C on an instant-read thermometer, transfer turkey to a serving platter. Cover with foil and allow to rest for 40 minutes

  • Step 9

    Turn potatoes over, add parsnips, carrots and pigs in blankets, set temperature to 200°C. Slide tray back in oven. Close door to continue cooking

  • Step 10

    When cooking is complete, the potatoes will be brown and the vegetables will be cooked. Carve turkey into slices and serve with the vegetables
