Sticky BBQ Wings

You can make our own BBQ sauce using the recipe below, or if you’re in a hurry then skip straight to step 5.

Cooking mode

When entering cooking mode - We will enable your screen to stay ‘always on’ to avoid any unnecessary interruptions whilst you cook!

For the BBQ sauce

  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp worcester sauce
  • 2 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp toto paste
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder ( optional)
  • 1 shallot
  • 1 cloves of garlic, if you don’t have any use 1/2 tsp granulated garlic
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • Salt and pepper

For the wings

  • 1kg wings
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 500ml sauce

Utensils

  • Step 1

    First of all make the BBQ sauce, or if you’re using shop-bought then skip to step 5.

  • Step 2

    In your Ninja Foodi Multi-Cooker, select the sear setting and medium high temperature, warm up the oil, add chopped shallots and fry until golden brown. Add the end add the garlic, best if chopped into small pieces or pressed.

  • Step 3

    Add the ketchup and rest of the ingredients.

  • Step 4

    Sear and stir for a few minutes. Let it cool and set aside, or if you’re making it the day before then store in a sealed container and place in the fridge

  • Step 5

    Marinate chicken wings in salt and pepper, and all the bbq sauce. Set aside for minimum of 2h.

  • Step 6

    Transfer the wings and the sauce to the Ninja Foodi Multi-Cooker cooking pot.

  • Step 7

    Set on pressure cooking, high temperature, 10min and assemble the pressure lid.

  • Step 8

    After the cooking is done and the pressure has been released, change the setting to sear.

  • Step 9

    Remove the wings, and on high temperature sear the bbq sauce until the liquid reduces and the sauce gets a little thicker. Remove the sauce to a container.

  • Step 10

    Wash the cooking pot.

  • Step 11

    Put the cooking pot and the Cook & Crisp Basket into the foodi.

  • Step 12

    Fill up the basket with the wings but don’t put them one on top of the other. Brush with some BBQ sauce you have just made. Choose Crisp setting, 200C for 10 min. You can turn over the wings halfway through crisping. Or leave them to crisp on one side only.

  • Step 13

    When they are done, sprinkle them with some sesame seeds.
