French Toast With Caramelised Strawberries

Cooking mode

- 120ml whole milk
- 3 large eggs
- 3 tbsp maple syrup, divided
- 2 tsp vanilla extract, divided
- ¾ tsp ground cinnamon
- 45g butter, divided
- 4 slices brioche bread, 2cm thick
- 400g strawberries, hulled, halved

Step 1
To install the flat plate, position it flat on top of the heating element and gently press down until it sits into place. Close the lid.

Turn dial to GRILL, set temperature to LOW, and set time to 10 minutes. Select START/STOP to begin preheating (preheating will take approx. 5 minutes).

In a shallow wide dish, whisk together the milk, eggs, 2 tablespoons maple syrup, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and ground cinnamon.

Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture. Allow the bread to soak for 1 minute, flip and soak for an additional minute.

When unit beeps to signify it has preheated and ADD FOOD is displayed, open lid and add 30g butter to flat plate. When butter begins to foam, transfer the bread slices to the flat plate and cook for approx. 3 minutes or until golden brown on each side. Close lid and cook for an additional minute. When cooking is complete, transfer French toast to a plate.

Step 6
Add the remaining 15g butter to flat plate. Once foaming, add the strawberries, 1 tablespoon maple syrup and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Cook for 3 minutes until caramelised. If time is running low, use the up arrow on the right side of the display to add more time.

When cooking is complete, remove the strawberries and the place on top of the French toast.
