Beef Tinga

Cooking mode

When entering cooking mode - We will enable your screen to stay ‘always on’ to avoid any unnecessary interruptions whilst you cook!

  • 1.3kg silverside
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2  medium onions, peeled, sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, peeled, crushed
  • 2 x 400g cans chopped tomatoes
  • 4 tbsp chipotle chilli sauce
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Salt, as desired
  • Ground black pepper, as desired
  • Wraps, to serve
  • Salsa, to serve

Utensils

  • Step 1

    Season beef with cumin, cinnamon and season to taste. 

  • Step 2

    Add to pot, onions, garlic, chopped tomatoes, chipotle chilli sauce, bay leaves, and season as desired. Add beef and spoon sauce over beef to fully cover. Cover with the lid.  

  • Step 3

    Turn dial to SLOW COOK, set temperature to LO, set time to 8 hours, and press START/STOP to begin cooking.  

  • Step 4

    Check beef at the end of cooking to see if it’s tender enough to shred, if not, turn beef over and carry-on cooking for another hour 

  • Step 5

    When cooking is complete, remove bay leaves and beef onto a boardUsing two forks, shredPlace back beef into sauce and serve hot in wraps and salsa.
