Stollen

Cooking mode

When entering cooking mode - We will enable your screen to stay ‘always on’ to avoid any unnecessary interruptions whilst you cook!

  • 70g dried cranberries
  • 100g mixed candied fruits (Kandierte Fruchtemix)
  • 100ml spice rum
  • 400g all-purpose flour
  • 70g caster sugar
  • 50g chopped almonds
  • 125ml milk - warm
  • 125g softened butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 5g dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp Christstollengewuerz
  • 1 Zest of lemon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 200g marzipan
  • Extra flour for rolling
  • Melted butter for brushing
  • 50g icing sugar for dusting

Utensils

  • Step 1

    Soak dried fruits in spice rum for 1 hour.

  • Step 2

    Add warm milk to a small bowl with yeast and stir until dissolved.

  • Step 3

    In a large bowl, add flour, sugar, stollen spice, lemon zest and a pinch of salt. Mix well. Then add butter, eggs and yeast and milk mixture. Knead for 5-8 minutes, then place back in the bowl and allow to rise in warm place or until dough doubled in size.

  • Step 4

    Once dough has risen, place it on floured surface and knead it lightly. Then add drained fruits and almonds and work them into the dough.

  • Step 5

    Roll dough out into a 30x20cm rectangle. Form 30cm long oval and place in the middle of rolled out dough. Fold one side of dough over the marzipan and then then the other. Using the sides of your palms push down along the sides of the “bump” in the middle all along.

  • Step 6

    Place stollen into baking paper lined air frying basket and allow to rise in a warm place for 30-45 minutes.

  • Step 7

    Install cooking pot in unit and close lid. Select BAKE, set temperature to 200°C and time to 8 minutes. Press START/STOP to begin preheating.

  • Step 8

    When unit beeps to signify it has preheated, place air frying basket in unit and close lid to begin.

  • Step 9

    Once unit beeps that cooking has finished, loosely cover stollen with aluminum foil. Select BAKE, set temperature to 160°C and time to 20 minutes. Press START/STOP to begin

  • Step 10

    When cooking is complete, brush stollen generously with melted butter while still warm. Allow to cool down and then generously dust with icing sugar
